In September 2021, this camera was replaced by the Ricoh GR IIIx, which is an almost exact copy of the latter model. The main difference is that the GR IIIx has a longer focal length (40mm).. In 2025, Ricoh has just released the GR IV, a new version of its expert compact camera, featuring several notable improvements over the previous model.
