Hello everyone, I’m back! I’m wrapping up this series of articles on accommodations in the Seychelles by answering one final question: Where to stay on La Digue Island? Many of you have asked me this question. La Digue is a far-flung island that is perfect for enjoying white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and beautiful walks through tropical landscapes. It is often the last stop on a wonderful trip to the Seychelles. It is a wonderful way to end a dream vacation on a high note!
La Digue is an unspoiled and authentic island that immediately makes you want to explore, doesn’t it? You know me, it’s the kind of island I love to explore! Spending a couple of days on the island is well worth it, and usually enough. After all, La Digue only covers an area of 10 square kilometers. However, it is the fourth-largest island in the Seychelles. A few days here will also give you a chance to experience the local culture. Its people are known for being warm and welcoming. So if you’re planning a trip to the Seychelles, La Digue is a must.
The best places to stay in La Digue
When choosing where to stay on La Digue, you have several beautiful areas to choose from. Although it’s a small island, there are still several lovely places to stay. The best choice simply depends on what you are looking for.
If you want to be at the heart of the island’s activities and stay in a prime location, Anse Source d’Argent and Anse Reunion are excellent choices. You’ll be right next to the most beautiful beach on the island: Anse Source d’Argent. It really is magnificent! In fact, many travelers come to La Digue specifically to see this beach.
The Union Estate is a great choice for a relaxing vacation with a touch of adventure. You can explore the vanilla and coconut plantations and then enjoy the beautiful scenery stretching out around you.
For a quieter atmosphere that still keeps you close to the island’s livelier areas, choose La Passe. This part of the island is considered the center of La Digue. It’s close to the shops and you can easily get around by bike or on foot.
Anse Banane and Anse Grosse Roche are the perfect places to stay if you’re really looking for peace and quiet. Imagine being on a sandy beach on the other side of the world with nothing but the sound of the waves. I have to admit, as I write this, it makes me want to plan a vacation there!
In short, there are a number of wonderful places to stay on the island of La Digue. Each one offers a different atmosphere and setting. Since the island is so small, my advice would be to split your stay between different accommodations to make the most of your vacation! It’s up to you, of course!
