Hello everyone, it’s me again! I’m wrapping up this series of articles on accommodation in the Seychelles to help you answer the question: Where to stay in La Digue island? This is a question that many of you have asked me. La Digue is an island at the end of the world, ideal for enjoying white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and beautiful walks in tropical areas. It is often the last stop on a wonderful trip to the Seychelles. Indeed, it’s a great way to end your dream holiday on a high note!
La Digue is an unspoilt and authentic island that makes you want to discover it, doesn’t it? You know me, it’s the kind of island I love to explore! A couple of days on this island is really worth the detours, but it’s enough. It has to be said that La Digue only covers an area of 10 sq km. However, it is the 4th largest island in the Seychelles. Spending a few days on this island gives you the chance to discover the local culture. Its people are known for being warm and welcoming. So if you’re planning a trip to the Seychelles, La Digue is a must.
The best places to stay in La Digue
If you want to stay in La Digue, there are several heavenly places to choose from. Although it’s a small island, you can choose from a number of very nice places. It all depends on you and what you’re looking for.
If you want to be at the heart of the island’s activities and have an exceptional location, Anse Source d’Argent and Anse Reunion are the places for you. You’ll be right next to the most beautiful beach on the island: Anse Source d’Argent. It really is magnificent! Indeed, most tourists come to La Digue just to discover this beach.
The Union Estate is an adventurer’s paradise for a more relaxing holiday with a touch of exploration. You can explore the vanilla and coconut plantations and then take in the stunning scenery as far as the eye can see.
For a more tranquil ambience, but still close to the bustling area of the island, choose the Passe. This part of the island is considered the center of La Digue. It’s close to the shops and you can even get around by bike or on foot.
Anse Banane and Anse Grosse Roche are the perfect places to stay if you’re really looking for peace and quiet. Imagine being on a fine sandy beach on the other side of the world with the only sound being the waves. I have to admit, as I write this, it makes me want to go on holiday there!
In short, there are a number of wonderful places to stay on the island of La Digue. Each offers a different atmosphere and setting to discover. If I could give you a bit of advice, given that the island is still small, I’d suggest that you vary your accommodation to get the most out of your holiday! It’s up to you, of course!
