Lately, I’ve been writing more and more articles about accommodation in Guadeloupe, because I’ve realized that many readers are interested in this. So, I’m now offering you a complete guide to seafront hotels in Guadeloupe. It’s true that many travelers come to Guadeloupe for the white sand beaches and coconut palms typical of the Caribbean. If you want to be as close as possible to postcard-perfect scenery, the seaside hotels are (often) on Grande-Terre or in the north of Basse-Terre, in Deshaies.
I agree, our beautiful archipelago is full of fine sandy beaches with turquoise water, but there are also other things to do in Guadeloupe: hikes in the rainforest, waterfalls, the Soufrière volcano and, of course, water activities such as diving, paddleboarding, surfing and many more! It also depends on how much time you spend on vacation here. Don’t forget the budget to plan for your trip to Guadeloupe. Between plane tickets, activities and accommodation, it can add up quickly!
So, if you absolutely want a hotel by the sea, I won’t hide from you that they’re often a bit more expensive. But as usual, I’ve taken care to select hotels for every budget. And, of course, I always use my own experiences (I’ve been here for 4 years now, it’s starting to add up) and those of my relatives to share some great addresses with you.
The best places to stay by the sea in Guadeloupe
To help you choose where to set down your suitcases facing the sea, here are 5 magnificent places:
- Sainte-Anne: a great start with this idyllic setting of long white sand beaches, turquoise lagoon and waterfront hotels. It remains a tourist area, so expect it to be busy!
- Le Gosier: as its name suggests, it’s just opposite Gosier Islet; I’ll let you imagine the color of the water! Plus, there’s plenty of entertainment: restaurants, markets, shops.
- Saint-François: the ideal spot for some with its lagoon, marina and great seaside addresses. Here, your stay will be punctuated by the beach, boat trips and water activities.
- Les Saintes: to really disconnect and enjoy a unique break, I recommend staying on these islands. You’ll enjoy coves with crystal-clear waters! By the way, if you’re interested, we’ve written a dedicated guide: where to stay in Les Saintes.
Deshaies: we end with this town in the north of Basse-Terre. It’s the “nature” choice between golden sand beaches and sunsets. Since it’s on Basse-Terre, there are still tourists and it’s always pleasant. To discover the best deals for accommodation in Basse-Terre, I recommend reading our article on the subject.
I hope this first overview has given you ideas about where you’d like to sleep in Guadeloupe. I’d say the most important thing is to choose the atmosphere and scenery that appeal to you. And then, you can always alternate to try different places and accommodations.

You’ll have the choice between several double rooms and a family room. They all offer an open view of the sea and good amenities. Good to know: one of the rooms is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Other assets include a buffet breakfast and free private parking. Ultimately, this hotel is a must in Les Saintes, with its exceptional setting, comfort and smiling team.
I also encourage you to read our complete guide to the Les Saintes archipelago. You’ll find everything you need to know about this little piece of land.

Sleeping in a seafront hotel in Guadeloupe at an affordable price is absolutely possible! These hotels offer the essentials with complete simplicity: functional, clean rooms just steps from the beach. Sometimes there’s also a pool or a kitchenette in some rooms to prepare your own meals. I’ve selected good options for couples, families and solo travelers. These are four hotels for anyone who wants to enjoy a dream setting without breaking the bank.
Hôtel Le Rotabas
This charming hotel is located in Sainte-Anne, on Pointe de la Caravelle. The setting is truly incredible: you’ll have direct access to the famous Caravelle Beach while being close to the town center. It’s tucked away in a lush garden, while offering an outdoor pool, two restaurants, a bar and an excursions desk.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be immersed in the atmosphere of a tropical village, with two pools, a watersports center, water activities and entertainment (even for children: there are clubs during school holidays).
As for accommodation, there are air-conditioned studios and apartments with a modern kitchen and a balcony, perfect for keeping some privacy as a family. For dining, you’ll have three restaurants and a bar at your disposal. Special mention for the property’s sustainability approach, certified by the Green Key label. Ultimately, this hotel is a very good choice to keep in mind, with the bonus of panoramic views of Marie-Galante and Les Saintes.
Zenitude Hôtel-Résidences Le Salako
Also in Le Gosier, at Pointe de la Verdure, this lovely hotel sits on the seafront while being close to Canella and Datcha beaches. You’re offered rooms that open onto a balcony overlooking the garden or the sea. They’re well appointed, with a minibar, television, safe and private bathroom. Within the hotel, you can alternate between the tropical garden, the pool and the terrace. Not to mention the beach right in front of the property.
If you choose it, you can enjoy lazy, relaxing vacations without renting a car. Or maybe stay a few days to take a break between intense sightseeing days—it’s up to you! But given its price and services, availability goes fast; so I recommend booking in advance.
