Guadeloupe and we fully intend to stay ! Since we’ve been here, we’ve had time to try several accommodations. What’s interesting is that there are more and more lodges and ecolodges in Guadeloupe. So it was the perfect opportunity for us to put together a complete guide to this new type of accommodation that is winning over more and more travelers.
By the way, if you’re planning to come to our beautiful archipelago, I can only recommend reading our article on activities in Guadeloupe. Between walks in the mangroves, hikes right in the middle of tropical forests, and Caribbean beaches, believe me, there’s plenty to do ! And it’s a great destination for a sunny break in the middle of winter.
You’re starting to know us: when we put together accommodation guides for you, we base them mainly on our own experiences or those of our loved ones who came to visit us here. So we’ve selected lodges and ecolodges on Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre, and above all for every budget !
You can also read our article showcasing some of the most beautiful seaside accommodation options in Guadeloupe.
Areas to stay in a lodge in Guadeloupe
Just before discovering lodges in Guadeloupe, I suggest we take a quick look at the best places to stay. Here are a few:
- Basse-Terre : it’s no coincidence that I’m starting with this part of the archipelago. This is where you find the greenest side of Guadeloupe. Between tropical forests, waterfalls, and the famous Soufrière volcano, it’s clearly the perfect place to enjoy a lodge nestled in the heart of nature. Needless to say, you’ll enjoy a rejuvenating setting to fully embrace the concept of an ecolodge, in tune with nature.
- Grande-Terre : very different from Basse-Terre and much more touristy ! But if you prefer to be near the most well-known beaches, in a seaside resort, go for it. And if you sleep in a lodge, it will be a nice break to unwind after a day of exploring. I’d say it’s a good compromise !
- Les Saintes : a real little slice of paradise with turquoise waters, beautiful coves, and more ! It’s clearly a unique setting. I’m willing to bet you won’t want to leave, ha ha.
- Marie-Galante : it’s another island in the Guadeloupe archipelago ! It’s preserved, with almost deserted beaches just for you. I know it’s not always your priority, because there’s so much to do in Guadeloupe. But I can tell you it’s worth the trip ! Picture yourself in a natural setting, settled into a gorgeous lodge ! If that tempts you, we’ve written an article dedicated to the island !
- La Désirade : now this is an even wilder island ! Lodges are rarer there, but intimate. No doubt you’ll appreciate the calm of the place ! In any case, we really enjoyed it as a family and we keep great memories.
We agree, there are some lovely spots to stay in Guadeloupe ! Plus, lodges and ecolodges are very open to nature. The best for enjoying the setting at its true value.
In my opinion, if you’ve landed on this article, you’re planning your trip to Guadeloupe. So, since we know it’s not the most fun thing to plan, we’ve prepared an article on the budget for a trip to Guadeloupe.
The best lodges and ecolodges in Guadeloupe
The best lodges and ecolodges are places right in the heart of nature, with simple or high-end services. In any case, you’ll be well set to disconnect, sleep, and wake up at the same time as the birds. The buildings are often made of wood, with local materials. And if they’re part of an eco-friendly approach, they offer various initiatives for water management and more. I’d say the experience makes the difference: terrace with no overlooking neighbors, sublime view, local breakfast, and so on…

Premium lodges and ecolodges in Guadeloupe
To treat yourself while enjoying a nature vibe, know that there are lodges with great amenities. On the agenda: elegant wooden cabins, terraces that open onto the sea or vegetation, sometimes with a private pool and a spa. In any case, I’ve prepared a selection of high-end cocoons, nestled in a green setting.
Kokonora Ecolodge
To begin, head for Sainte-Anne (Grande-Terre): the Konokora is hidden in a tropical garden just a few kilometers from the famous Caravelle beach. You’ll sleep in cozy chalets open to nature. Indeed, nothing is left to chance: four-poster bed, wooden terrace with hammock, balcony overlooking the garden ! Just writing these lines, I can almost picture myself there ! Plus, the ecolodge has an outdoor pool, walkways in the vegetation, and a small pond with fish.
The property doesn’t lack assets: its originality, its calm, and the great welcome from hosts Hennia and Éric. It’s a total change of scenery for a getaway in the heart of nature. Honestly, we’re starting strong with this selection of premium establishments !
Jardin Malanga
We’re heading to the opposite side, to Trois-Rivières (Basse-Terre), to discover Jardin Malanga. As its name suggests, you’ll be right in the middle of lush nature ! Not to mention the panoramic view of the Saintes archipelago, worthy of a postcard. In this beautiful setting, you’ll find a Creole house and all its adjoining bungalows. They’re all wooden, with a lovely balcony.
Outside, there’s an infinity pool, a tropical garden, and several terraces to settle down, read, meditate—anything you want ! At the edge of the terrace, there’s a restaurant where you can have good breakfasts and dinners based on local products (fish, fruits, vegetables). In addition to the calm, the breathtaking views, and the excellent restaurant, the location is ideal for heading to Les Saintes and hiking La Soufrière !
TropicAngel Ecolodge
On the heights of Pointe-Noire, TropicAngel offers you a nature cocoon with an incredible view of the sea (perfect for sunsets). The rooms and bungalows open onto large terraces. Some are equipped with a full kitchen, with a view of either the sea or the mountains. As for facilities, you’ll have access to an outdoor pool, a well-maintained tropical garden, and a massage area.
To situate you, the ecolodge is a few kilometers from Marigot beach and the Saut d’Acomat. Travelers particularly appreciate the more-than-peaceful setting, the panoramic view, the well-decorated bungalows, and the warm welcome from the hosts. In short, we’re talking about an ecolodge with high-quality facilities, a great opportunity to treat yourself !
We tested and approved this ecolodge! To share our opinion with you, we wrote a full article about TropicAngel.
OCEAN LODGE Saint Anne Guadeloupe
On the Sainte-Anne side, Ocean Lodge is a superb independent 140 m² lodge in a quiet neighborhood. You’ll be just about a fifteen-minute walk from the famous beaches of Sainte-Anne and La Caravelle. The lodge can accommodate up to 8 people, with its 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, air conditioning, a living room, a modern kitchen, and a dining area. But even with all these amenities, the lodge makes you want to enjoy the outdoors above all.
It must be said there’s plenty to enjoy: a large terrace, a lush garden, a barbecue, and a private pool. For convenience, there’s also private parking. The highlight of this lodge is its privacy, its indoor-outdoor living, and its great location for getting around on foot. That’s pretty handy, right ?

Ecolodge Anacardier
Here we are at an ecolodge just as elegant as the previous ones ! To situate you, Ecolodge Anacardier is in Saint-François, near Raisins Clairs beach and departures for Les Saintes and Marie-Galante. Here, you’ll have an entire cabin made of wood and vegetation. It offers superb comfort with 2 air-conditioned bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a huge terrace open to the garden. Not to mention the private pool and hot tub.
The decor is meticulous, the bedding comfortable, and the welcome warm. It’s a place just for you, like a return to nature. You’ll be in peace while enjoying excellent standards. In short, it’s the perfect ecolodge to feel alone in the world and appreciate the natural environment.
Au Jardin Des Colibris Ecolodge&Spa
In Deshaies, we had the chance to try Jardin des Colibris. We put our bags down in a wooden Creole cabin, with a large terrace, a hammock, an equipped kitchen, and, to top it all off, an open-sky shower ! Here, you sleep in the heart of nature, and especially in the middle of 10,000 m² of greenery (I’m not exaggerating !). You’ll have a choice between several cabins and treehouses, with different amenities.
Special mention for the Jungle Lodge: an accommodation with a mezzanine, a private pool, and a water garden as a bathroom. We visited it and it was a real favorite for me ! What we really liked during our stay: the privacy, the calm, the amenities, the welcome. Honestly, it was a great surprise for us; we just had to share it with you. By the way, we also fully intend to go back when we get the chance !
To find out more about our on-site experience, I invite you to read our story on Jardin des Colibris.

Rest assured, you’ll stay close to hikes, waterfalls and beaches if you like to vary your schedule. A little tip to find good deals: favor the shoulder season, it’s often more interesting !

Ecolodge Anguilla
Hidden in the greenery of Saint-François, this eco-friendly vacation home is close to Anse du Mancellinier. Both the exterior and interior are well laid out. To start with the interior, you’ll find two air-conditioned bedrooms, a living room, an equipped kitchen and, above all, a terrace overlooking the garden.
That’s not all ! The ecolodge offers several bonuses: a pool, a hot tub (to take a dip under the stars !), an outdoor shower and a barbecue. As for activities, you can go snorkeling or golfing nearby. We agree, this is definitely a place that aims to be intimate and peaceful for recharging !
Piton Bungalows Ecolodges
Perched on the heights of Deshaies, very close to Grande-Anse, Piton Bungalows Eco Lodges offer Creole cabins. They are all wooden and open to nature. To give you a better idea, each bungalow offers a large terrace with an unobstructed view of the sea, a modern kitchen and a bathroom. And some even have a balcony and/or a private hot tub. Within the ecolodge itself, you can dive into the outdoor pool, stroll through the tropical garden, or have a barbecue (it’s nice to be out in the open).
The little extras: a great welcome with ti-punch, tranquility, authentic decor and the ideal location. Also, don’t hesitate to chat with the hosts, they’ll be happy to give you their little tips ! In short, I think this ecolodge offers quite a few amenities for good value for money ! In my opinion, it’s worth taking a closer look !
BUNGA-LODGE
This time, Bunga-Lodge offers you a getaway in Douville, on Grande-Terre. As soon as you arrive, you’ll be surprised by the exceptional setting, on the edge of a small lake and, of course, surrounded by vegetation. It’s also its setting that most appeals to travelers ! It must be said that, from the bungalow’s own terrace, you can observe iguanas, turtles and birds.
The lodge is designed to accommodate 2 to 4 people. It is air-conditioned and includes a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Icing on the cake: you can enjoy a hot tub. You’ll see, you’ll feel good outside as well as inside. There’s also an outdoor shower, a private pool and a barbecue area. Not to mention that you’ll be close to beautiful beaches ! If you want a lodge just for you, in a unique and very natural setting, you’re in the right place !
Rêve Et Alizé - Charming gites
In Bouillante, Rêve & Alizé unveils 6 charming lodges in a tropical park of over 6,000 m². They are all on the banks of the Bourceau river, 2 km from Malendure beach and the Cousteau Reserve. They are also wooden, with an equipped kitchen. The real differences between them are in the size and level of comfort. In any case, they are perfect compromises between comfort and nice decor.
To help you picture the estate: it offers a pool in the heart of greenery and relaxation areas overlooking the sea. It’s safe to say we come here for the 100% natural setting. It almost feels like a botanical garden. To sum up, Rêve & Alizé is a little gem not to be missed !

Budget lodges and ecolodges in Guadeloupe
I admit it, staying in a lodge or an ecolodge does require a certain budget in Guadeloupe. But rest assured, there are some that are more affordable. In general, they are small wooden bungalows overlooking the garden or the mountain. You’ll find a shared pool rather than a private one. However, these are simple places, but with good comfort. Result: you’ll get a lodge experience without breaking the bank.
Banana EcoLodge
In Saint-François, Banana EcoLodge invites you into an all-wood cocoon, hidden in a lush garden. You’ll wake to birdsong, making yourself a little coffee in the open kitchen or lounging in the hammock. So, tempted ? There’s also a pool surrounded by plants. The lodge is simple, but well thought out: a comfortable bedroom, a private bathroom, and a kitchenette.
The host, Maya, will welcome you while recommending the most beautiful spots to discover. Even though its location is convenient, you’ll need a car to visit the surroundings ! In any case, I think this ecolodge is really a good deal. Just remember to book in advance !

Ecolodges Karet
From your first steps in this ecolodge, you’ll immediately love the combo of raw nature and simple comfort. Roughly speaking, you can choose between several villas that blend perfectly into nature. What’s more, they’re scattered over 12,000 m² of tropical flora. Suffice it to say there’ll be no overlooking neighbors and you’ll be more than peaceful there ! Each has its terrace, its outdoor kitchen and a semi-open shower. Enough to make you want to stay outside more than inside.
As for location, you’ll be about a hundred meters from Grande-Anse. You can walk down there in the morning or at the end of the day. Whether you’re traveling as a duo or in a group, you’ll find the villa you need ! They have a capacity of 2 to 8 people, depending on the one you choose. You’ve got it, here, tranquility and disconnection come first, with complete simplicity.
Les Bananes Vertes Ecolodges
Heading for Basse-Terre to be tempted by Les Bananes Vertes Ecolodges (not to be confused with Banana EcoLodge, which I told you about above). On site, you’ll have a choice between a studio and wooden bungalows. For a lodge vibe, go for the bungalows instead. Outside, they have a balcony, a hammock and an open-air kitchen. You’ll see, the air is cool for sleeping, windows open, with the sounds of nature.
This ecolodge has received the European Ecolabel (EU Ecolabel) ! It truly follows an eco-responsible approach by collecting rainwater and offering a magnesium pool. Everything is done so the lodge blends into the natural setting while respecting it ! Plus, you’ll be close to the Soufrière volcano and the Carbet Falls. If you care about eco-responsibility, you can go with your eyes closed.
And we finish with the last summary table of this article ! There you’ll find all the essential info for budget lodges and ecolodges.
