Cinema lenses for RF mount - The full list

I’m back with a new project to list and research cinema lenses. I have started this work with a list of cinema lenses for the L-mount and the X-mount.

Even though most of the lenses mentioned are not always easy to get, this is the most complete list I’ve been able to compile of Canon RF mount cine lenses.

Here is a list of cinema lenses currently available for the RF mount from around ten brands.

I wanted to create this table even though, at the time of writing, Canon had not yet officially launched any cinema lenses for the RF mount. However, the above list will give you an idea of the upcoming lenses for this mount, from ultra-wide-angle to small telephoto.

7Artisans, a Chinese brand, offers a range of lenses for the Canon RF mount. Their collection of cinema lenses includes fixed focal lengths ranging from ultra-wide-angle (12mm) to more standard focal lengths (25mm, 35mm, 50mm) and even small telephoto lenses (85mm). Feedback is currently limited due to the relative newness of the mount. All of these lenses are available at relatively affordable prices, under €500.

Blazar offers a range of anamorphic lenses for the Canon RF mount, but feedback is also limited.

Fujinon currently offers two lenses for the Canon RF mount, both zoom lenses. The 18-55mm has an excellent reputation with positive feedback.

Irix is an increasingly well-known brand that also offers a range of lenses for the RF mount. Feedback is generally very positive, especially for the 15mm, 45mm and 150mm lenses. The brand offers a very wide range, from very wide angle (11mm) to telephoto (150mm), and also includes a macro option.

Meike also offers a wide range of lenses for the RF mount, from ultra-wide angle (10mm) to telephoto. The brand offers lenses for both full-frame and APS-C Canon cameras. Lenses for APS-C cameras are available at very affordable prices, generally around €500, while lenses for full-frame cameras cost on average around €1,200.

Mitakon Zhongyi currently offers a range of fixed focal length cinema lenses compatible with the RF mount. However, it is currently difficult to obtain user feedback on these lenses.

Known primarily for its high-quality filters, Nisi is expanding its horizons by offering a range of cinema-specific fixed focal lengths for full-frame mirrorless cameras, covering the spectrum from ultra-wide-angle to short telephoto. User feedback on these lenses is still limited.

Rokinon, a brand that has been making its mark in the world of photography for some time now, is expanding its range to include a selection of lenses for the RF mount, from ultra-wide-angle (14mm) to short telephoto (85mm). So far, only a few photographers have given their feedback on these lenses.

Samyang, also known as Rokinon in the USA, offers exactly the same lenses for the Canon RF mount as its counterpart Rokinon. Depending on where you live, it may be easier to get your hands on them.

Sirui has the widest range of cinema lenses currently available for the Canon RF mount, for both full frame and APS-C cameras. This diverse range of lenses covers a broad spectrum, from wide angle (24 mm) to telephoto lenses. User feedback and reviews have generally been very positive, with many being of the opinion that Sirui lenses are excellent value for money. In particular, the Sirui 35mm f/1.8 Super35 Anamorphic 1.33x and the Sirui 50mm f/1.8 Super35 Anamorphic 1.33x for APS-C RF sensors have received excellent reviews. Both lenses are priced at around €500.

Rarely seen and not easy no find, Vazen offers a handful of quality lenses (at high prices) for the RF mount. The few feedbacks are excellent.

Best known for its high quality manual focus macro lenses, Laowa is a renowned brand of photographic lenses. Laowa offers a wide range of cinema lenses for the Canon RF mount. These lenses cover both APS-C and full frame sensors. You’ll find ultra wide angle lenses, standard lenses and, naturally, macro lenses. The few reviews generally praise the lenses’ quality.

I’ve come to the end of this article with a list of cinema lenses for the Canon RF mount. The choice is still relatively limited compared to the old EF (SLR) mount. However, it is highly likely that new options will emerge over time. Don’t hesitate to share your experiences if you personally use any of the lenses in this list!
