In March 2025, Sigma launched the Sigma BF, the successor to the Sigma FP L launched four years earlier, offering a bold innovation in the field of mirrorless cameras. This 24.6 MP full-frame camera is made from a single block of aluminium and features a monoblock design. Weighing just 446g, it offers a maximum electronic speed of 1/25,600 and a moderate burst rate of 8fps, allowing up to 350 RAW files to be stored in its buffer. The Sigma BF also takes a more streamlined approach, dispensing with memory card slots in favour of 230 GB of internal memory, which can hold more than 14,000 JPEG files or 4,300 uncompressed RAW images, powered by the new BP-81 battery.

This camera also has a surprisingly redesigned interface, where the main settings – shutter speed, aperture, ISO, exposure compensation and colour mode – are found on a fixed 2.1 megapixel touch screen with an 8 cm diagonal. Simplified to 3 buttons, a dial and a shutter release, the interface offers a fluid and intuitive shooting experience, enhanced by thirteen colour modes that offer a remarkable creative richness. The mirrorless autofocus system, which combines phase and contrast detection with advanced algorithms, ensures optimal detection of objects, faces and animals such as dogs and cats.

To complete the range, the Sigma BF is a high-performance video camera with 6K video recording at 30 fps and integrated L-log, exploiting the wide dynamic range of the full-frame sensor, although stabilisation remains exclusively electronic.
