It has been five years since the A7S II was first introduced, and Sony is pleased to announce the Alpha 7S III, which builds on the success of its predecessor with a 12.1-megapixel full-frame sensor. The latter is ideally suited to audiovisual professionals, offering excellent performance in low-light conditions and advanced ISO management, which ranges from 80 to 409600. The device is optimized for video recording, capable of filming in 4K DCI and UHD at 120 fps, as well as in Full HD at 240 fps in 10-bit 4:2:2 format, aligning itself with the most demanding production criteria.

The camera includes slots for an SD UHS-II card and a CF Express Type A card, enabling adaptability and enhanced responsiveness, particularly for burst shooting at up to 10 fps due to its large buffer. The NP-FZ100 battery, introduced more recently, offers a notable improvement in battery life, which is advantageous for extended production runs. The electronic viewfinder, comparable to those found in premium models such as the A1 or A7RV, offers unparalleled viewing quality, essential for precise composition.

This model features an innovative sensor that outperforms its predecessors in terms of low-light performance. It is also equipped with Sony's autofocus tracking technology for faces and eyes, including animals, making it extremely accurate in a variety of shooting contexts. The Sony A7S II, released in October 2015, is equipped with a 12.2-megapixel full-frame sensor, targeting a professional photography and video audience, particularly in low-light conditions. This model is held in high regard for its high sensitivity and ability to record video in 4K UHD at 30 fps and 1080p at 120 fps, which have maintained its appeal despite its age.

The A7S II is compatible with SD UHS-II and CF Express Type A cards, due to its BIONZ X processor and the use of previous-generation NP-FW50 batteries.
