The Sony A6600 stands out in the a6000 series with its 24-megapixel APS-C sensor. Released in August 2019 after the A6400 and A6100 models, it is aimed at advanced photographers and features notable improvements such as improved battery life, with the ability to take up to 810 shots on a single charge, and effective image stabilization built into the body.

With the ability to shoot at 11 frames per second (fps) and advanced autofocus, the A6600 is ideal for capturing dynamic portraits, landscapes and fast-moving action. In terms of video, it delivers 4K UHD resolution, albeit limited to 30 fps, a point that may not satisfy those looking for greater fluidity in 4K.

Although the device lacks UHS-II card compatibility and a USB-C port, which hampers transfer speeds, it does have a slot for UHS-I SD cards. Despite its limitations and the fact that it has been surpassed by the A6700, which significantly improves video functionality, the A6600 remains a solid, cost-effective option for photographers who value ruggedness and versatility.

The Sony A7S II, launched in October 2015, features a 12.2-megapixel full-frame sensor, designed with professionals who require superior low-light performance in mind. The camera's key differentiating feature is its ability to record 4K UHD video at 30 frames per second and Full HD video at up to 120 frames per second. Despite its market release several years ago, the camera continues to be highly regarded for its high sensitivity.

The camera's core is powered by the BIONZ X processor, and it utilizes the NP-FW50 series of batteries, which have a proven track record of reliability. This model is compatible with SD UHS-II and CF Express Type A memory cards, ensuring stable performance. While the viewfinder and screen resolutions are adequate for its time, the camera offers 5-axis stabilization and advanced video capabilities, notably thanks to the S-Log3 profile, which significantly enhances the dynamic range of captured images.

However, in light of rapid technological advances, the A7S II model is no longer the optimal choice for new purchases, particularly in light of the release of the Sony A7S III in August 2020. This latest model demonstrates clear improvements in resolution, color management, and battery life, aligning more closely with the current standards for professional photography and video.
