Admittedly, it’s been a while since I last wrote about Guadeloupe. But we’ve been living here for over three years now and we intend to stay! Today I’ve decided to write an article about where to stay in Les Saintes, those islands we love (just across the road from our house!)! In fact, we just got back from a three-day weekend there, in Terre-de-Haut. And guess what? We tried some new activities in partnership with Manawa. In fact, so you can find out all about it, I’ve just published a full article on the Saintes archipelago!
To get the most out of these magnificent islands, we recommend that you spend between three and five days there. Most people only go for one day. But frankly, I think that’s too short and you don’t have enough time to really get to know the place.
And since more and more of you are choosing Guadeloupe for your holidays, I suggest you read our articles on the islands of Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas. In the meantime, here are our top recommendations for hotels in Les Saintes and other great places to stay. As always, our recommendations are based on our own experiences and the feedback we’ve received! The aim is really to share our feelings with you. That’s why we’re trying to test more and more accommodation here in Guadeloupe, like the Hôtel des Colibris in Deshaies.
By the way, if you have accommodation in Les Saintes and you come across this article, don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like us to consider a partnership to test your accommodation and write a dedicated article. It will allow us to share our real opinion with our readers!
As you can see, this article is about the best places to stay in Les Saintes. As I always say, I haven’t been able to talk about all the accommodation here. So I’ve chosen the ones I think are the most interesting, bearing in mind that there are plenty of options on both islands (but more on Terre-de-Haut anyway).
We have a comprehensive guide to the best seaside spots in Guadeloupe, which you might find useful if you’re also looking for other great places to stay.

Where to stay in Les Saintes? Our recommendations
Before getting to the heart of my selection of hotels and other accommodation in Les Saintes, I’d like to give you some information on where to stay on these islands, depending on the type of holiday you’re looking for. To put it simply, if you want to be at the heart of the action, with restaurants, bars and ice-cream parlours all around you, it’s best to choose Terre-de-Haut. If, on the other hand, you prefer to be in peace and quiet, away from the tourists, then Terre-de-Bas should suit you! Although after 4pm there’s hardly anyone left in Terre-de-Haut, as most people come for the day.
There are several ways to stay in Terre-de-Haut:
- In the village: It’s easier to get around here and you don’t necessarily need to hire a buggy. Contrary to what you might think, it’s not a noisy place because it’s still a small island. So don’t worry (you’ll sleep well, ahah)! In fact, this is where we stayed last time.
- In the outside (in Bois-Joli, for example): It couldn’t be quieter! On the other hand, you’ll need a pushchair or other means of transport, or you’ll have to rely on the hotel… But there’s plenty to do! Indeed, we’ve given you a great overview of things to do in Les Saintes in our Loisirs aux Saintes story.
- Anse Figuier, Rodrigue, Pompierre, Marigot: These places are a bit more isolated. I advise you to hire a car! Then you won’t have to worry about anything.

The best hotels in Les Saintes
We’ve been asked a lot lately: which hotel to choose in Les Saintes? To tell you the truth, there are only four hotels in Les Saintes, and only in Terre-de-Haut. But rest assured, they’re all good establishments with positive reviews!
Hôtel Bois Joli
We stayed at this charming hotel for three days over a long weekend. We have very fond memories of this establishment! Firstly, it’s well located, very close to the beaches of Anse Crawen (on foot) and Pain de Sucre (by kayak/paddle, for example). On the other hand, it’s a bit out of town, so it’s better to rent a car (but that’s a detail, ahah!).
As for the rooms, they are comfortable, clean and air-conditioned, with a terrace (quite nice for admiring the sea views). As for the food, I’d say it was ‘quite expensive’ for what it was, so we preferred to eat elsewhere for the rest of the weekend.
If you’re the type of person who can’t sit still on holiday, there’s plenty to do, including hiking, beach trips and water sports! So if you’re looking for a hotel that offers great value for money while you recharge your batteries as a family, I highly recommend the Hôtel Bois Joli!
Village Le Pre
This is a welcoming apartment hotel just 1.4km from the famous Pain de Sucre beach. You’ll be in the middle of a tropical garden, perfect for peace and quiet. What’s more, its location is convenient: you can easily explore the island on foot, by bike or by scooter, depending on how much time you have!
The accommodation is spacious and well equipped, with a fully equipped kitchen, private terrace and bathroom. The little extra is the warm welcome from the hosts, who are always on hand to offer advice! And don’t forget the facilities: there is a barbecue and free parking. In short, Village Le Pré is ideal for a family holiday or a romantic getaway to visit the magnificent beaches and discover Terre-de-Haut.

Résidence hôtelière Hurlevent
This establishment opens its doors for you to enjoy a heavenly setting overlooking the sea! To put you in the right place, you’ll be on the heights, in a rather central corner of the island. In terms of facilities, this is a 4-star hotel offering spacious, modern rooms with private bathrooms and even a kitchenette. They all have a large terrace overlooking the sea (the sunsets must be magnificent). Facilities include a Jacuzzi and spa (top notch!).
If you want to explore the surrounding area, you can hire bikes or electric cars directly from the hotel. As you can see, this residence offers top quality facilities in a dream location! Doesn’t it sound tempting? If so, I’d advise you to book in advance to make sure you get a room! I think this will be our next property!
Le Kanaoa
For the record, the Kanaoa is the oldest hotel on the island! So I had to tell you about it. It is located in an idyllic setting with a panoramic view of the Baie des Saintes. For your information, this bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You might as well say it’s magnificent! And that’s not all!
This hotel has beautiful rooms, a swimming pool and access to a private beach. Bonus: I recommend you try the hotel’s restaurant (I haven’t tried it, but I’ve heard great things about it). It serves hearty meals with a direct view of the bay. Between its quality service, location and decor, Kanaoa has it all!

Other types of accommodation in Les Saintes: Gites, villas and apartments
In Terre-de-Haut: at the heart of the action
Kazarev
If you’re looking for a place to recharge your batteries in Terre-de-Haut, you might just fall in love with this villa. It’s perched on a hill with panoramic views over the famous Baie des Saintes! What’s more, you’re just steps away from the sandy beaches of Grande Anse and Anse Rodrigue. The villa can accommodate up to four people and has all the comforts you need for a dream holiday: private pool, terrace, fully equipped kitchen, all beautifully decorated! The hosts will welcome you with a smile and answer all your questions. In short, Villa Kazarev is an excellent choice for a few days of peace and quiet with breathtaking views!
Les hamacs aux Saintes
As the name suggests, this campsite is waiting for you to enjoy a very unusual holiday! There are no rooms or tents here, just hammocks where you can sleep under the stars in the heart of nature. I think you’ll have plenty to talk about when you get back, ahah! For the record, this campsite is a former military hospital. You’ll have access to hot showers, a barbecue area and, best of all, communal areas for chatting with other travellers! Whether you’re an adventurer or just looking for a place to relax, don’t hesitate to choose Les Hamacs aux Saintes!
Ti Kaz Marigot
We’re moving to a seaside apartment! Located just across the bay from Marigot, this apartment has been recently renovated: everything is modern, with two bedrooms, a lovely terrace overlooking the sea, a well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable living room. Travellers love the decor, the view (no surprise there, ahah) and the location! Speaking of location, you’re literally a stone’s throw from the beach at Pompierre. As you can see, this apartment is an ideal little cocoon as a pied-à-terre for visiting Les Saintes!
Aux îles d’Amour
Situated in the centre of Terre-de-Haut, this holiday home strikes the perfect balance between comfort and conviviality. It’s only a few minutes from the beach at Grande Anse and Marigot Bay! With this location it’s impossible to miss the must-sees of Les Saintes. The resort has two bungalows: one for two people and one for four. They are well decorated and have a terrace with an uninterrupted view of the sea. They have everything you need: a dining area, private entrance, bathroom, coffee maker, etc. Honestly, this accommodation ticks all the boxes for a good stay, doesn’t it?

Sur l’Anse
And here’s a lovely holiday home for a few days (or more) in Terre-de-Haut! To tell you the truth, the location of this house is superb: in a quiet corner, yet close to all the amenities. I think it’s the perfect compromise! You’ve got a choice of accommodation: sea view studio, family studio and superior studio. As you might expect, the superior studio offers more comfort, while the family studio is larger. In all cases, the accommodation includes a kitchenette, comfortable beds and a private bathroom. In short, whether you’re a family or a couple, I’m sure you’ll have fond memories of this accommodation (if you choose it, of course!).
Kazajany
Are you looking for a quiet place to stay with an incredible view over the bay of Les Saintes? Without getting ahead of myself, I think you’ve come to the right place! Kazajany offers several studios and apartments. Two of them have stunning sea views. Personally, I’d advise you to choose one of them. I’ll let you judge for yourself by looking at the photos! In terms of comfort, all the apartments are well equipped: kitchenette, terrace, etc. Even though this is an apartment-only complex, there is a swimming pool, barbecue and picnic area. In my opinion, all these facilities and the magnificent sea views make all the difference!
Dans un jardin
The name says it all: this gîte is set in a tropical garden! It’s all wood, cosy and, above all, well equipped: modern bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and two rather spacious bedrooms. I’d say it’s the perfect blend of comfort and nature! What’s more, the hosts are attentive and always ready to give you some good tips. Other good points: you’re close to beaches and restaurants (always good to know). Between you and me, this gîte is the kind of place where you feel good… and sometimes it’s hard to leave, haha!

In Terre-de-Bas: the quiet and authentic option
Résidence Soleil Demery
If you’re looking for a little peace and quiet to get away from it all, check out Résidence Soleil Demery (where we stayed last time)! There are several comfortable studios with kitchens and, most importantly, a terrace to make the most of the outdoors. In fact, in the centre of the residence you can also enjoy the swimming pool in the garden. It’s great after a day of exploring, or just to relax! As for the location, you can’t complain: you’re not far from town and beaches like Petite Anse and Anse à Dos. Maybe this will be the perfect opportunity to go diving? In short, if you like simple, peaceful accommodation with a natural feel, this is the house for you!
Chez Maité
Chez Maïté offers you a comfortable apartment in a peaceful, flower-filled setting. You’ll have 40 m² all to yourself! That’s more than enough for 2 or 3 people, especially if you’re often on the move. The apartment is well equipped, with one bedroom, a modern kitchen, a large living room and, to top it all off, a terrace with a private Jacuzzi. I’d say that’s a real bonus! When you arrive, the hosts have a habit of welcoming visitors with a punch (frankly, it’s nice!). In short, if you come here, you’ll spend a few days in complete tranquillity, in a prime location for visiting the island!

Terre-de-Bas : L'île merveilleuse
Another lovely apartment in a quiet corner of Terre-de-Bas! Don’t worry, although it’s a quiet spot, you’re still close to sandy beaches and amenities. In fact, there are two apartments to choose from: one for two people and one for four. Both have balconies with stunning sea and mountain views. Facilities include a modern kitchen, dining area and private bathroom. In addition to the accommodation, you can enjoy an outdoor area with a garden and a swimming pool (always a nice touch, I think). In short, this accommodation is ideal for a quiet family holiday. Not to be missed!
