Hiking in Guadeloupe island

Passionate about nature and hiking, we’ve decided to dedicate a full page on the hikes we do daily in Guadeloupe. Whether it’s alone, with family or friends, we hike on this beautiful island of Guadeloupe, looking for beautiful landscapes, lush nature, rivers, waterfalls, viewpoints, etc.

The island offers great hikes, from easy to very difficult ones…

This page is under construction. It will be updated as we discover new hikes. We also write daily other articles about Guadeloupe, as well as advice articles, other discoveries, etc. Don’t hesitate to have a look.

Hiking in Guadeloupe

Below, you have access to an interactive map that summarizes all the hikes we have done in Guadeloupe, or that we plan to do, and also displays the GPS track (in orange). The principle is simple:

  • On the top right, you have a system of layers that allows you to display the background you want. You can choose between the satellite image, the classic IGN Scan 1/25 000 map (local French maps), IGN maps (sometimes more detailed) or display the administrative limits (for the communes),
  • You can also (on the top left of the map) zoom in/out or search for a specific area,
  • Automatically, you have the “hiking” layer activated which allows you to visualize directly on the interactive map all the hikes in Guadeloupe that we were able to do or that we have planned,
  • The blue dots materialize the hikes that we have already done. By clicking on these points, you have access to:
    • The name of the hike
    • The link to the blog article (if it exists)
  • The red points indicate the hikes that will be done soon and that will be the subject of a dedicated article. You then can’t download for now the trail of the hike.

GPS tracks for hiking in Guadeloupe

You will find below all the GPS tracks of the hikes we have done in Guadeloupe. By clicking on the link of the hike you are interested in, you have access to download the .GPX file that you can then import in your GPS to follow exactly the track we walked. All the GPS tracks below are ours. They are therefore safe regarding the hiking itinerary.

For information, you have only access to the .gpx of the hikes we did (the blue points on the map). As soon as we test a new hike, we’ll update this page by integrating the .gpx of this last one.

Regarding the equipment, we use the very good Garmin Etrex Touch 35 GPS. This new model is clearly an improvement compared to my old one (the Garmin 32x), whose buttons on the side of the GPS were very quickly damaged.
